Health and Safety Representative Stages



Stage 1: 

  • $150 (add an additional $5 if you would like a hard copy certificate send via post)
  • Unit Standard 29315 - Describe the roles and functions of the Health and Safety Representative
  • In order to become a Health and Safety Representative, the NZQA Unit Standard 29315 is required - which is covered with this online course. Only HSRs that have completed this initial training can issue PINs and direct unsafe work to cease. 



Stage 2: 

  • $200 (add an additional $5 if you would like a hard copy certificate send via post)
  • Unit Standard 17602 -  Apply hazard identification and risk assessment procedures in the workplace
  • Unit Standard 18411 - Explain organisational injury management procedures
  • Stage two gives more detail about risk assessment and identifying hazards early to ensure a safe work environment. It also covers how HSRs can assist injured workers with ACC claims and support workers back into the workforce. 



Stage 3: 

  • $250 (add an additional $5 if you would like a hard copy certificate send via post)
  • ​​​​​​​Unit Standard 17601 -  Produce an occupational health and safety incident investigation
  • Unit Standard 25042 - Prepare a workplace health and safety improvement plan using data analysis and productiviy measures. 
  • Stage three gives more detail about how to improve health and safety in a business / workplace and how to conduct an incident investigation to ensure no recurrence of the events and to improve health and safety in the future.
