Health and Safety Representative Stages

A Health and Safety Representative provides workers with an opportunity to have a say about Health and Safety in the workplace. While the responsibility for providing a healthy and safe workplace rests with the business, HSRs play an important role in keeping workplaces healthy and safe.  By representing workers, HSRs provide a link between workers and management.

Stage 1: - $175 including GST

  • Unit Standard 29315 - Describe the roles and functions of the Health and Safety Representative
In this introductory course, you will learn everything you need to know to perform the basic functions of a Health and Safety Representative. You will learn about the structure of health and safety in New Zealand, and the rights and responsibilities of various parties. Stage 1 is the only training required to become a health and safety rep in a New Zealand workplace, but each additional stage adds to your portfolio, building your skill set and improving your employment prospects across all industries.

Stage 2: - $250 including GST

  • Unit Standard 17602 -  Apply hazard identification and risk assessment procedures in the workplace
  • Unit Standard 18411 - Explain organisational injury management procedures
Our stage 2 training expands on risk assessment methods and teaches you how to identify hazards in your workplace. In this course, you will learn more about how you can assist injured workers with ACC claims and support workers back into the workforce. Stage 2 will take your skills to the next level, putting you a cut above the rest.

Stage 3: - $275 including GST

  • Unit Standard 17601 -  Produce an occupational health and safety incident investigation
  • Unit Standard 25042 - Prepare a workplace health and safety improvement plan using data analysis and productiviy measures. 
  • Our highest level of training, Stage 3 is perfect for those love a challenge. This advanced course will give you the skills you’ll need to conduct incident investigations, and prepare workplace improvement plans, allowing you to make a lasting impact on health and safety practices in your workplace.
